The link in your text or email
When a job is finished, the business can text you that your car is ready, and a while later email you to ask how it went. Both messages carry a link. This article explains what that link opens, why it works without signing in, and what to do if it stops working.
What the link opens
Tap the link and the finished job opens straight away — no code, no password. The business’s name is at the top, then:
- The date and time of the visit and its status, Completed.
- Services — what was done and what it cost, down to the Total.
- Vehicle — the car the work was done on.
- Notes — anything you or the business wrote on the booking.
- Before Photos and After Photos, when the technician took them; choose any to see it full size.
- How was your service? with a Leave a Review button — unless you have already rated this job, in which case the page shows Your rating instead.
It is the same job page you would see after signing in, with two differences: there is no menu to the rest of the portal, and the service address is left off.
Why it does not ask you to sign in
The link itself is the key. It was made for you and for this one job, and it opens nothing else — not your other bookings, not your details, not another customer’s job. That is why it can skip the sign-in, and also why the address is not shown: a text can be forwarded, and the page should not give away where your car lives.
If you want the rest of the portal — your other bookings, your vehicles, your account — sign in as usual. The same job is under My Bookings.
When the link has expired
Links from these messages stop working after a while — about a month. Open one after that and the page says This link is no longer available, with a Sign in to the portal button. Sign in, open the booking under Past, and everything the link would have shown is there, including the review button if you have not rated the job yet.
The same page appears if the link was mistyped or cut short when copied; signing in is the answer there too. If the business has since switched its portal off, neither the link nor signing in will work — contact them directly.
Leaving a review from the link
Choose Leave a Review, pick a star rating under How would you rate your service?, add anything you want to say under Comments (optional), and choose Submit Review. A job can be rated once, and within three months of the service; after that the button is gone and the page simply shows the job.
Good to know
- The text only carries a link when the business has its portal switched on. Otherwise you still get the “your car is ready” message, naming the service, and can find the job by signing in.
- The photo email you may receive at the same time uses an ordinary portal link, which does ask you to sign in.
- Never share the link: anyone holding it can see the job and its photos, and can rate it in your name, until it expires.
