Find a customer, vehicle or job

By the end of this article you’ll know what to type into Find to reach a customer, their car or a piece of work, and what each result can do once it’s on screen.

Search from the Find tab

  1. Tap Find in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Type into the box at the top — its hint reads Name, plate, job or invoice. Two characters are enough to start; a single digit is searched only when it reads as an amount or a date.
  3. Results appear as you type, grouped into Customers, Vehicles, Jobs, Quotes, Invoices and Payments. A group with nothing in it doesn’t appear at all.
  4. Each group shows its first five rows and a count. Tap Show all to see the rest of that group.
  5. Tap a row to open it — see What opens below.

Clear the box to get back to the starting screen.

What the box matches

One search runs across every kind of record at once, so you don’t have to say what you’re looking for:

  • Customers — any part of the name, phone, email or address. Punctuation doesn’t matter: 555-0100 finds a number saved as 555 0100.
  • Vehicles — the plate, the VIN, the make or the model. A plate also finds its owner, so typing one puts the customer in the Customers group too.
  • Jobs and Quotes — the job or quote number, or the customer’s name.
  • Invoices and Payments — the invoice number, the customer’s name, or the last four digits of the card a payment was taken on.
  • An amount450, 450.00 or $1,450.00 finds jobs, quotes, invoices and payments for exactly that amount.
  • A date3/14, 3/14/2026 or 2026-03-14 finds jobs booked that day, invoices dated that day, and payments taken that day. A bare month and day means this year.

Before you type

The tab isn’t blank while you decide what to search. It shows On your route today — the stops you haven’t finished yet, in driving order — and Recent, your own latest work. Both are one tap from the job.

What opens

  • A customer opens their page: contact details, vehicles and history. See Customer detail: history and contact.
  • A vehicle opens its owner’s page, which lists the vehicle. If the owner isn’t on your phone yet, the row just shows what it knows.
  • A job of yours opens its details. A job that belongs to another technician is marked Read-only and doesn’t open — you can see it was done and what it cost, but there’s nothing for you to do on it.
  • A quote always opens; every quote on your phone is one of yours.
  • Invoices and payments answer the question in the row itself: an invoice reads Paid with the date or Not paid, and a payment says which invoice it settled. To act on an invoice, open the customer and use their history.

Good to know

  • Find searches what’s already on your phone, so it works with no signal, and the answer is the same one the office would get from the same records.
  • A count like 25+ means there are more matches than the app will list. Type a little more to narrow it down.
  • Nothing matched that. means no record on the phone fits. Nothing has synced to this device yet. is different: the app hasn’t pulled your company’s records yet — wait for the first sync, or check Sync Now under You.
  • Older work drops off the phone over time, so a customer you can find may show less history than the office sees.
  • Tapping Find again while you’re deep in a customer’s page brings you back to the search.
