Install the app on iPhone or Android
By the end of this article the Wax Stak app is on your phone and ready for you to sign in.
Before you start
- iPhone or iPad: iOS 15.5 or later.
- Android: Android 7.0 or later.
- An account. Your manager invites you from the back office; the invite email carries a link where you set your own password. The app has no sign-up form of its own — if you have no account yet, ask your manager to add you to the team.
- A connection for the first sign-in. After that, most of the app keeps working with no signal.
Install it
- Open the App Store (iPhone or iPad) or Google Play (Android).
- Search for Wax Stak.
- Tap Get (App Store) or Install (Google Play). The app is free — your business pays for Wax Stak, not you.
- When it finishes, open it from your home screen.
The app is only on the phone you installed it on. Each phone you use needs its own install and its own sign-in; you can see them all later under You → Your Devices.
The first time it opens
The app starts on the sign-in screen: your email and your password, nothing else. Sign in, and choose your company walks through it, including what happens when your email works for more than one business.
Right after you sign in, the app downloads your work for the coming days so it is on the phone before you need it. The bar at the top says Syncing… while that runs and Up to date when it is done. Leave the app open on a connection for that first sync; it is usually a few seconds.
The app asks for permissions only when it first needs them — the camera the first time you add a photo, location the first time you set a route start from where you are standing, notifications right after your first sign-in. You can say no to any of them and the rest of the app keeps working. Permissions the app asks for explains each one.
Updates
Updates come through the same store. Keep automatic updates on so your phone and your office are on the same version — a new feature in the back office may need the matching app to show up on your phone.
To see which version you have, open More (the … at the end of the tab bar) → About.
Good to know
- The app follows your phone’s language: Spanish if your phone is set to Spanish, English otherwise. There is no language switch inside the app.
- Signing out removes the downloaded work from the phone, including anything that has not reached the server yet. If you are handing a phone back or wiping it, sync first — You → Sync Now — and then sign out.
- Lost the phone? Sign it out from any other device under You → Your Devices — see Your devices, and signing out a lost phone.
