Booking as a new customer
You have found a detailer’s portal and want to book, but you have never used them before. You can look around freely; confirming a booking needs an account, and an account is something the business sets up for you. This article shows what works before that, where it stops, and the quickest way through.
What you can do without an account
- Services at the top of the page opens the booking wizard. Select Services lists everything the business offers online, with a description and a price for each.
- Select Date & Time works too: pick a day and you see the times still open, so you can find out whether the week you want is possible before you get in touch.
- Your Details says Sign in to choose your vehicle and service address. — those come from your account, so the two lists are empty — but you can still go on to Review & Confirm and see the Booking Summary with its Total. Tax is worked out for your address, so signed out it reads Tax is calculated at confirmation.
Where it stops
On Review & Confirm the page says Please sign in to confirm your booking. and Confirm Booking stays greyed out. Choose Sign in and you are taken to the sign-in page; once you have signed in with your code, you land back on the booking wizard and start your booking again with your vehicle and address ready to pick.
Signing in only works if the business already has you on file: the portal emails a code to the address they recorded, and a code will not arrive for an email they do not know. The page says If an account exists for that email, a code is on its way. either way — that is expected. See Sign in with a code sent to your email.
Become a customer
- Contact the business — their phone and email are at the bottom of every page, including the sign-in page, and the Notes (optional) you would have written can go straight into the message.
- Give them your name, the email you want to sign in with, your phone number if you want text reminders, the vehicle, and the address where the work would happen.
- They add you as a customer. Many will simply book your first appointment for you while you are on the phone; the booking then shows up under My Bookings once you sign in.
- Sign in with a code to the email you gave them, and book the next one yourself.
Why it works this way, and why there is no sign-up form, is explained in Why you can’t create an account yourself.
Good to know
- The times you see signed out are real. Booking one still needs the account, and somebody else may take it in the meantime.
- If you have a Google or Apple account with the same email the business records, you can use it to sign in — see Sign in with Google or Apple.
- Nothing you pick while signed out is kept: once you have an account, start the booking again from Services.
