Payment rates by plan, and where fees show up

By the end of this article you will know what each card payment costs you and where to find the exact fee on every payout.

The rates

Processing fees are set by your plan, and the current table is published on our pricing page. Rates apply per transaction and are collected by the processor before the money reaches your bank.

StarterProBusiness
Credit card2.9% + $0.302.75% + $0.302.65% + $0.30
Debit card2.5% + $0.302.2% + $0.302.0% + $0.30
Card on file (saved card)3.2% + $0.303.2% + $0.303.05% + $0.30

Changing plans changes the rate on every card charged from then on. It never reprices a payment already taken.

Which rate applies to what

  • Collect Deposit on a job, the Pay now link a customer opens from an invoice email or a payment link, and the deposit your online booking page asks for are all a card the customer enters at that moment. They are charged the Credit card or Debit card rate, depending on the card.
  • The charge a technician takes on the phone against the card a customer keeps on file, and the automatic charge for a customer’s subscription, use the Card on file rate.

Cash and checks recorded in the app cost nothing.

Where the fees show up

  1. Open BillingPayments and the Settlements tab.
  2. Each row is one payout: Total is what your customers paid, Fees is what the processor took, and Net Amount is what reaches your bank.
  3. Click a row to open its entries. Every charge in the payout is listed with its own Amount and Fee, so a single card payment can be checked against the table above.

The Transactions tab shows each payment at its face amount — the fee is on the settlement, not on the payment.

Good to know

  • Timing. A payout groups the charges captured since the previous one. A settlement’s Status moves from Pending through Awaiting Approval and Approved to Complete; once approved, the money typically reaches your bank the next business day.
  • Refunds and disputes you lose are taken out of a later payout, and appear among that settlement’s entries.
  • The pricing page also lists a bank-transfer rate. There is no bank-transfer option in the app today; every payment your customers make through the app is by card.
  • Your books. The fee on each payout is recorded in your ledger the day the payout completes, so the Bookkeeping report and this tab agree.
