AI insights — your weekly reading

By the end of this article you will know how much to trust each part of the weekly insight — and which parts are your own numbers restated rather than an opinion.

Reports › Tools › AI Insights is a Business feature. Once a week it reads your completed jobs and recognized revenue for the week just ended, compares them with the week before, and writes a short plain-language summary over the figures.

Read the insight

1. The line at the top says which dates the insight is Covering — the seven days before the start of your week, as set by Week starts on under Settings › Company › Company Info.
2. The summary is a headline and a few observations. Every number it mentions is one of the figures beside it: Revenue, Revenue change, Jobs completed, Jobs change, Average job value, Average job value change, Fastest growing service, Biggest decline and Projected revenue.
3. Next week’s projected revenue is a projection from your last eight weeks of recognized revenue. The line under it says whether it was Seasonally adjusted using the same week last year — which needs a full year of history — or Based on recent trend only — not seasonally adjusted. With under three weeks of history it says Not enough history yet for a reliable projection.
4. Service lines that moved (job value) lists up to five services with the largest change: Service, Job value, Previous week, Change, or New this period for a service with no jobs the week before.

Regenerate

• Opening the page costs nothing; the insight is generated by a weekly pass and stored. Regenerate rewrites it now from the same period, with the latest figures. Use it after a correction — a late-completed job, a re-dated invoice — rather than as a refresh button.
• If the written summary could not be produced, the page says so and shows the figures alone. The figures are computed by the app; the model only narrates them, and it cannot put a number on the page that the app did not calculate.

Good to know

• First week. Until you have a full week of completed jobs the page shows Your first weekly insight will appear once you have a full week of completed jobs. You can also generate one now.
• Stale. An insight older than the expected cadence is flagged This insight is more than a week old. Regenerate it for the latest reading.
• Revenue vs job value. The headline revenue is recognized revenue on your accounting basis, the same figure the revenue report and profit and loss show. The service movements are job value, because a service belongs to a job rather than to an invoice.
• Language. The summary is written in the language your business signed up with.
• Business only. On Starter or Pro the page shows Unlock Business reporting with Upgrade to Business. Any role that can view reports can open it.
