Open a job and what each section means
By the end of this article you’ll know what each part of a job’s page is telling you, and which parts you can change from your phone.
Open a job by tapping its row on Work, or find it under Find. The page is called Job Details, and everything on it is on your phone, so it opens with no signal.
Customer, address and time
The first card is the customer. Their name at the top is a link — tap it to open their history, vehicles and past jobs. Under it are the address and the appointment time. If the time reads Time syncing… the phone hasn’t received it yet; it fills in on the next sync.
Next to the time, a Change button appears on a job that hasn’t started yet, if you lead it and your role can edit jobs. It opens Change appointment; Move appointment saves the new time on the phone and sends it when you have signal. If the office can’t take the move you’ll find out under Needs review, and the job keeps the office’s time.
The status badge on this card — Scheduled, Confirmed, In Progress, Completed or Canceled — is where the job has got to. Moving it is covered in Start, pause and complete a job.
Crew
On a job with more than one person on it, a Crew card lists everyone and marks who leads it with Lead. The lead runs the job: status changes, the on-my-way message, canceling and collecting are theirs. If you’re a helper, a line near the bottom says so — You’re on this job with Sam — Sam runs it. You can clock in and take photos.
Vehicle
The Vehicle card shows the car’s name, color and plate. Edit Vehicle opens its form; Add Vehicle adds another to this customer, when your role can edit customers. No vehicle on file. means the job was booked without one.
Services
Every service line with its price, then Subtotal, Discount (if any), Tax and Total. A Package badge marks a line from a package; Estimate marks a price the office hasn’t confirmed.
Under each line sits its checklist, if the office set one up — see Job notes and the service checklist.
On a job that hasn’t started, the lead can tap Edit services to swap the lines. Save services stores the change on the phone; until the office prices it the card says Your change to the services is saved on this device and will be priced by the office when it syncs.
Notes
The office’s notes for this job — translate them with one tap. You can’t add to them from the phone. See Job notes and the service checklist.
Photos
The Photos card appears once you’ve taken a photo on this visit, each with a Before or After badge. Earlier photos live in the office. See Take and attach photos.
Time on job
While the job is live, the Time on job card carries Clock in, Pause, Resume and Clock out, a running timer and Today: 3:45 — your total across jobs. It’s open to the whole crew.
The action area
Above the bar at the bottom, outlined buttons offer what makes sense right now: Let the customer know I’m on my way, Collect Payment and Email payment link once the work is under way, Skip stop while your day is running, Cancel Job while the job is live. On a finished job, a Next job card points you to the next stop — or says That’s a wrap — and a Review card shows what the customer said or lets you ask. With nothing left to do, the page says No further actions for this job.
The bar at the bottom
The bar stays put as you scroll. Its big button is the one thing this job needs next — Confirm Job, Start Job, Complete Job or Collect Payment. Under it, four small ones: Text, Call, Drive and Photo. Text and Call are grayed when the customer has no phone number; Drive when there’s no address.
Good to know
- The page re-reads itself whenever a sync lands, so an office change shows up without leaving the job. See A job changed while you were on it.
- Couldn’t load this job. means the job is no longer on this phone — usually because it was reassigned or canceled, or the office refused a job you created offline.
- The totals are the job’s price. Whether it’s been paid is on the payment screen, which needs signal.
