Your day on the Work tab
By the end of this article you’ll know how to read the Work tab from top to bottom, and where to tap to get moving.
Work opens on today. The date is in the header, the strip under it shows the week, and everything below is about the day that’s selected. To look at another day, see See another day on Work.
The count at the top
The badge in the header — 2 of 5 done — counts the jobs scheduled for the day, not the stops on your route, so a job the office added at the last minute is in it even before it’s routed. A canceled job isn’t counted at all.
Where you’re going next
Today leads with a Next card: the stop number, the customer’s name, the address and the planned arrival time. Tap Navigate to open it in your phone’s maps app; tap the name to open the customer’s history. Once every stop is done or skipped the card reads That’s everything for today. Nice work!
My day
- Tap Start my day when you head out. It’s saved on your phone and synced later, so it works in a parking garage with no signal.
- If you haven’t entered your starting mileage, the card says Don’t forget your starting odometer reading — tap to open Route setup. Tap it and enter the reading.
- Tap End my day when you’re done. The card then reads Worked 8:02 AM to 4:40 PM. and nudges you for the ending reading the same way.
You have to start your day before you can skip a stop — see Skip a stop you can’t complete.
When two or more stops are still ahead of you, Open full route sends the remaining addresses to your maps app in order.
The job list
One row per job, in the order you’ll meet them: stops on your route first, in route order, then any job the route doesn’t know about, by its booked time. Each row leads with the service, then the vehicle, then the customer and address, and ends with booked 10:30 AM.
- A row marked booked 11:30 AM · out of order means the route reaches that customer after a later booking. The customer was told 11:30, so it’s worth a call.
- A grayed row that says skipped today is a stop you skipped; the job stays on the office’s schedule.
- Two or more finished stops in a row collapse into one line — Stops 1–2 complete · $180.00 collected. Tap it to open the rows again.
- The job in progress has its own highlight.
Tap any row to open the job. See Open a job and what each section means.
Cards above the list
Depending on your role, cards above the list flag things that aren’t your route yet: Today’s numbers, jobs that need a technician, Outstanding invoices and quotes, Expenses and Reviews. A card you can’t act on isn’t shown. If the office has marked the day closed, a line says The business is closed on this day.
Route setup
Below the list, Route setup is collapsed because you need it once a day: where the route starts, which vehicle you’re driving, the stop order, and your odometer readings. Details in Navigate to the customer.
Refresh, and the plus button
Pull the list down to sync now. The + button opens Create — New job, New quote or New customer — and only offers what your role can create.
When the day looks empty
Three different sentences, because they mean three different things:
- No jobs scheduled for this day. — a free day. The phone has loaded it and there’s nothing on it.
- Nothing has loaded yet. Connect to load your work. — the phone has never synced. Find signal and pull to refresh.
- This day hasn’t loaded onto this phone. — the day is outside what the phone keeps, or hasn’t been pulled yet. Sync, and if it’s still empty the day is further out than the phone holds.
Good to know
- The count and the list update on their own whenever a sync lands — no need to leave the tab and come back.
- Start my day, End my day and the odometer readings work offline and sync later. Route start and route order wait for signal.
- A job on a closed day, or one that’s not on your route, is still your work and still in the list.
