Business settings: name, hours, timezone and service area

By the end of this article you will know where every fact about your business lives under SettingsCompany, which screens read each one, and which two things are not changed there at all.

SettingsCompany is a row of tabs. This article covers the first five that describe the business itself — Company Info, Locations, Business Hours, Service Area — and the regional settings on the first of them. The others have their own articles: deposits, your plan, messages and notifications, security and crew pay.

Company Info

  1. Company logo — choose a file (PNG, JPEG or WEBP, up to 2 MB). It saves the moment you pick it. It appears at the top of your customer portal and in the emails your customers receive, on the Pro plan and above — see Branding.
  2. Company Name, Email, Phone, Website — how the business is named and reached. The name is the only required field.
  3. Customer support contact — a Support email and Support phone your customers see on invoices, statements, the booking portal and branded email. Leave either blank and the business contact above is used instead.
  4. Regional settings — the Timezone every schedule, reminder and report is read in, and the Default Currency new invoices start in. A job booked for 9:00 is 9:00 in this timezone wherever your staff happen to be.
  5. Billing Address — printed on invoices as the “From” address. Switch on Same as primary location to copy the primary location’s address, or type a different one.
  6. Click Save Settings. Everything on this tab saves together.

Locations

The Locations tab lists the shops and yards your team works from. Each row saves on its own — there is no Save button on this tab.

  • Add location opens a dialog for a Name, the address (Country, Street Address, City, region and postal code) and a Phone. The address is placed on the map when you save; a row marked Not on the map could not be, and routes will not start from it until the address is corrected.
  • The Primary location is where routes start for anyone without a home base, and the address the billing-address switch copies. Use Make primary on another row to change it; the primary cannot be removed, and neither can a location an employee starts from.

Business Hours

Week starts on sets the first day of the week on the calendar, the mobile app and weekly reports. Below it, each day has an Open/Closed switch and, when open, an Open and Close time. Your online booking page offers a vehicle owner times inside these hours only, and nothing at all on a closed day.

Closures are holidays and other days the business is shut: Add one with a Date, an optional Name and Every year for a date that repeats, or Add US holidays to add the federal holidays in one go. The booking page offers nothing on a closure, the calendar shades it and the mobile app marks it.

Click Save Settings after changing hours; closures save as you add them.

Service Area

The Service Area tab describes the circle you travel to: Radius (miles) around a Center Latitude and Center Longitude. It is a reference for your own planning — nothing checks a customer’s address against it, and a job outside the radius books as normal. See Customer addresses and your service area. A custom-drawn area is listed but not yet available.

The same tab holds the Mileage & fuel card, which the mileage report reads.

Good to know

  • Your portal address cannot be changed here. The web address your customers use to reach your portal was chosen when the business signed up. To change it, write to support@waxstak.com from the owner’s email.
  • Who can edit. Only an Admin can change anything under Settings; Accounting and Viewer can read it, and other roles do not see the menu.
  • The tabs are separate saves. Company Info, Business Hours and Service Area each have their own Save Settings; an unsaved edit on one tab survives a visit to another, but is lost if you leave the page.
