Sign in, and choose your company

By the end of this article you are signed in on your phone, working for the right business, and you know why the app sometimes asks which company you mean.

  1. Open the app. The Sign In screen has two fields.
  2. Type your Email — the address your business invited you with — and your Password.
  3. Tap Sign In. The button stays gray until both fields have something in them.

You use the same email and password as the back office on the web; there is no separate mobile account. Sign-in needs a connection — after it, the app downloads your work and most of it keeps working with no signal.

“Which company?”

Some technicians work for more than one business — a contractor with two detailing companies, say. If your email belongs to more than one, the app asks Which company? right after sign-in and lists them by name. Pick the one you are working for right now.

  • If you belong to only one business, the app skips the question.
  • A business shown as Paused cannot be picked; the row says it needs to be turned back on from the web office. Nobody there has signed in for a while, so it was paused; an owner or manager turns it back on from the back office, and then it works again.
  • No company yet means your account is not attached to any business. Ask your manager to add you, then sign in again.
  • Couldn’t load your companies means the phone could not reach the server. Check your signal and tap Try again.

To change company later, open YouCompany. The row shows the business you are acting as; if you have somewhere else to go, tapping it opens Switch company? with the other businesses listed — pick one and tap Switch. Your unsynced work at the current company stays on the phone and syncs when you switch back.

When sign-in fails

Sign in failed. Check your email and password. is the only message the app shows, on purpose — it does not say which of the two was wrong. Check both. Passwords are case-sensitive, and the email is the one on your invitation.

After five wrong attempts in a row, sign-in is paused for fifteen minutes; the same message appears until then.

Forgot your password? The app has no reset link of its own. Open your business’s back-office address in a browser, tap Forgot Password? under the login form and follow the email — Reset your password has the steps. Then sign in to the app with the new password.

If the app signs you out on its own

  • Your session ended. Please sign in again. — you were away for more than a day. Sign in again; the work on the phone is still there.
  • This device was offline too long, so its downloaded data was cleared for security. — the phone went a week without a connection. Sign in again and the app downloads your work afresh.
  • Your fingerprint, face or screen-lock settings changed … — you changed the phone’s lock settings, so the saved sign-in was cleared. Sign in again.
  • This company is paused, This company is suspended or You can’t reach this company — the business itself, not your phone, is the problem. The screen says who can fix it; your work on the device is safe.

Good to know

  • The app locks itself when you put the phone down for a minute; unlocking with your face, fingerprint or passcode is not a sign-in — see Lock screen: passcode and biometrics.
  • YouSign Out removes the downloaded work from the phone, including anything not yet sent. Sync first if you can.
  • Each phone you sign in on is listed under YouYour Devices, where you can sign out one you no longer have.
