Set up a new business
By the end of this article your new business will have a plan, hours, a service area and a first teammate, and you will know which of the dashboard’s Getting Started items are still open.
The setup steps
The owner sees Welcome! Let’s set up your business the first time they sign in — nobody else on the team does. Five steps run across the top; each saves as you click Next, and everything can be changed later under Settings.
- Choose Plan — pick a plan. Starter is free and asks for no card; a paid plan asks for a card here and shows Subscription activated once it goes through. This step cannot be skipped, but you can start free and upgrade whenever you like.
- Invite Team — add a teammate’s First Name, Last Name, Email and Role. Each one gets an invitation email with a link to set a password; they sign in to the mobile app or the back office with it. Optional — add as many as you like, or none.
- Business Hours — for each day, set Open and Close. Your customers see these hours when they book online.
- Service Area — the Location ZIP Code of your base and a Service Radius (miles) — how far from it your business goes.
- Review — a summary of what you set. Anything marked Not configured yet — you can set this up later in Settings is fine to leave. Click Complete Setup.
You’re All Set! confirms what you configured, notes that standard detailing services were created for you, and mentions the welcome email on its way to your inbox. Click Go to Dashboard.
Once a plan is chosen, Skip setup for now under any step takes you straight to the dashboard; the remaining items wait for you in the checklist below.
The Getting Started checklist
On the Dashboard, the Getting Started card lists what a working business still needs, with a count such as 2 of 6 complete. Each line is a link to the right page, and the tick appears on its own once the item is done:
- Complete your company profile — Settings → Company: business name, hours, service area and time zone. The customer portal reads these.
- Set up your services — Catalog → Services. Review the standard ones and their prices, or replace them with yours.
- Set your tax rates — also under Settings → Company, so invoices calculate tax.
- Add your products — Catalog → Inventory, if you sell or track products.
- Connect payments — Billing → Payments, to take cards online and in the field.
- Invite your team — Team → Employees.
The card disappears by itself when every item is done. Dismiss hides it earlier; the pages stay where they are.
Good to know
- Two more cards may sit under the checklist for a while: Start accepting card payments until payments are connected, and Customize your services until you have touched the standard catalog. Each has its own Dismiss.
- The plan can be changed at any time; the checklist and the cards do not depend on it.
- Invitations sent during setup and later under Team → Employees are the same thing.
